1. Nature of xMath
xMath is a mathematical calculation and study tool. The tabs are: study of functions z = f(x,y) (domain, gradient, critical points with the Hessian, directional derivative, tangent plane, 3D graph), Frenet trihedron (derivatives of the curve, tangent, normal and binormal unit vectors, curvature, torsion), xSolver (simplification, expansion, derivatives, integrals, equations, evaluation and limits), linear systems (Gauss-Jordan elimination, Cramer's rule, rank and the Rouché-Capelli theorem), matrices (transpose, trace, rank, determinant, inverse, characteristic polynomial, eigenvalues and eigenvectors) and Assistant. xMath performs no structural calculations and applies no technical standards. It is not a consulting, certified teaching or certification service.
2. Results, steps and checking
Symbolic and numerical results may be wrong, incomplete, not simplified to the expected form or not valid over the whole domain; the steps shown are an explanation of the procedure, not the only possible procedure. The engine numerically checks some solutions, but the check does not guarantee correctness in every case. Users check the result with an independent method before using it in study, research, design or decisions, and check how the expression was written (powers, fractions, brackets, angle units).
An automatic result is not a professional opinion and does not replace the judgement of a teacher, researcher or qualified professional.
3. AI assistant and reading from an image
The internal assistant answers with the app's engine. The optional AI assistant and the reading of an equation from an image or PDF rely on third-party services: they may be unavailable, change over time, have queues and limits, and produce wrong answers or recognitions; the recognised expression must be checked and corrected before calculating. The data sent to those services is described in documents 03 and 07.
4. Data in the browser
Settings, theme and the app's notebook are kept in the browser (document 04) and may be lost if the user clears site data or changes device. The notebook is not an archive of calculations: expressions and results the user wants to keep must be saved by the user. Compatibility with every browser is not promised: the 3D graph and some functions require an up-to-date browser; running a model in the browser requires WebGPU.
5. Updates and support
ONMAKE may update xMath to fix errors, security, compatibility or features. Reports of calculation errors may be sent to info@onmake.it stating the expression entered, the tab, the result obtained and the expected one, without attaching third-party data that is not necessary.
