1. Internal assistant
The AI Assistant tab contains, as its first panel, the xMath assistant: it interprets the request, passes it to the app's calculation engine and answers with the working and the theory. It is not a language model, calls no external service and says when it cannot answer. Requests it does not understand, rephrasings and solutions found are noted in the browser's local notebook (document 04); they are not sent to ONMAKE.
2. Optional AI assistant with a third-party provider
A second panel lets users use an AI assistant to understand and explain calculations and set up inputs. The preselected option is Pollinations, a free public service that requires no key; the user may choose Google Gemini, Groq, Mistral or OpenRouter by entering their own API key, or a model run in the browser (WebLLM), which sends no data online but downloads a library and a model on first use (the library is loaded from esm.run).
When the user sends a question, the browser sends it directly to the selected provider with the app's instructions and the conversation history; the answer returns to the browser. Requests do not pass through ONMAKE servers. If the user sends a question without changing the option, the question is sent to Pollinations. The provider receives the content sent and technical connection data and processes them under its own terms, notice and conditions of use, including outside the European Union; ONMAKE is not party to that relationship and is neither sub-processor nor recipient of that flow.
Users do not enter in the assistant personal data, confidential data or data subject to professional secrecy, or content they have no rights over, unless they have checked the provider's terms and their own authority.
3. Reading an equation from an image or PDF
The function converts an image, or the first page of a PDF rendered in the browser with pdf.js (loaded from esm.run), into an image that is sent to text.pollinations.ai, without a key, to recognise the expression. The image may contain personal data present in the document: users use the function only on images they may send to a third party.
4. API key
The API key the user enters is kept in the browser's local storage (xmath_ai_key), in clear text, and is not sent to ONMAKE servers; it is sent to the corresponding provider in requests. Users remove it on shared devices and may revoke it with the provider.
5. Human review and reliance
Models can produce wrong, incomplete or invented answers. Users check results with an independent method before relying on them. These terms delegate no professional procedure or decision about a person to an AI model. ONMAKE does not supply AI models of its own and does not authorise sending users' content to AI models for training or profiling.
Any new AI feature operated by ONMAKE would be described before activation, with providers, data transmitted, training use, location, retention and reliability limits; it is not activated retroactively through a generic update clause.
