1. Why this notice
OnFirma creates email signatures and signature images. This notice explains what they are not, to avoid confusion with the electronic signatures governed by Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS).
2. Email signature
The email signature is a block of text and images with name, role, contact details and links. It presents the sender but does not guarantee the authenticity of the message, its integrity or non-repudiation.
3. Handwritten signature
The stroke drawn with a mouse, finger or stylus becomes an image inserted into the signature. If a person uses it with the intention of signing, its value depends on the context and the applicable law; at most it may be assessed as a simple electronic signature.
4. What OnFirma does not do
OnFirma is not a trust service provider; it does not identify the signer; it neither uses nor issues certificates; it does not use qualified signature creation devices; it does not cryptographically link the signature to the document; it does not create advanced or qualified electronic signatures or digital signatures; it does not offer qualified validation or preservation.
5. Acts requiring particular forms
For contracts or acts that require written form, a digital, qualified or advanced signature, authentication or compliant preservation, suitable tools and providers other than OnFirma must be used.
6. Correct use
The user must not present a signature created with OnFirma as certified or qualified.
7. Commercial communications
Inserting the signature in an email does not make an unsolicited commercial communication lawful: privacy and direct marketing rules continue to apply.
